Madden NFL 16, the 27th edition of EA Sports’ annual football franchise, will be released Aug. 25, 2015, publisher Electronic Arts announced today.
That timing continues the series’ recent trend of launching at the end of August, a couple of weeks before the start of the real-life NFL season. As usual, Madden 16 is in development at Orlando, Florida-based EA Tiburon.
EA’s post did not specify platforms for Madden 16. Reached for comment, an EA representative told Polygon that the company has no further details at this time. Madden NFL 15 is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
The Madden promotional campaign typically gets started around the NFL Draft, which takes place at the end of April. This year’s draft begins April 30. For more on Madden 15, you can read our review of the game, and check out its wild launch commercial featuring Kevin Hart and Dave Franco below.
